Figs

Figs trees are a source of food and nice surroundings in the house. In Wisconsin you must plant them in large pots because in winter you need to bring them in. If your figs are not ripening you
could try dabbing olive oil on the eye* of the fig.

In the Dreamtime orchard.

The orchard is a place to collect nuts and fruit . Buartnuts are an intresting hybrid between heartnut and butternut, they produce heart shaped nuts and they taste like walnuts. Windpower is another thing that works well with orchards but unfortunatly dreamtime does not have windmills.

Around the house, garden and animals.

At the begining of the day I feed and water the chickens. Chickens are very important in the permaculture system, they provide many things: manure, eggs, meat and bug control. Different chickens have different qualitys and personalitys such as bantams are more docile and petlike than most other chickens, broody hens are very good egg producers and much more tame than meat chickens, meat chickens are tough and usually mean birds but when properly cooked or roasted are delicous.
